I am a friend or relative of a current/past residentīk.casa AVOID THIS PLACE!! UTMB sent my Aunt there for physical therapy rehab after a short hospital stay, and no one seemed to know why she was there. I will always be incredibly grateful for the loving care they gave my father in his last years. The Meridian staff became like a large extended family for my Dad and me. I knew he was safe and loved which took a HUGE burden from me. They went out of their way to make sure he could still live his life with dignity. He was a very independent guy, and they allowed him to experience as much independence as possible in ways that were safe. They got to know my Dad as a person, not a patient. My Dad absolutely adored everyone who worked there from the maintenance department who helped put his recliner together, to the front office staff, to the med aids and nurses.they were all wonderful. Every staff member we encountered over the last three years was loving, warm and real. Very first encounter with staff, we knew we made the right decision. Though we were both nervous, starting with our Janie's Dad We moved my dad into the Meridian several years ago after I had taken care of him in my home for five years. I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident I would like to know a little bit more specifics about my friend's condition, knowing what I know about his previous condition. However, I have been asking to have a doctor-to-doctor talk and it has not occurred yet. It is very serviceable and it looks like a good place for a transitional facility. The room that he is in is a little bit out-dated, especially compared to some of the things I have seen (as I am a physician, so I know what a hospital looks like). They are trying to be very observant of all of the anti-Covid restrictions and the facility was clean and neat. They have been pretty responsive to my concerns and questions. He ate every bit of it, so that was good. I saw his food that he got and it looked delicious.

I talked to the physical therapy people yesterday and we talked about what I need him to be able to do. He has been progressing a bit in his ability to move around. Quick access to Highway 22, Highway 99 East, and I-5, makes it easy to get around town and beyond.Marylee My friend is in rehab at The Meridian. You’re just one block from the Salem Public Library, 2 blocks from Salem Hospital, and close to Willamette University, the State Capitol building, and various state government offices. When it comes to education and work, The Meridian’s location is ideal. Jog or walk with your dog across the scenic Peter Courtney Minto Island Bridge – a pedestrian and bicycle bridge that spans the Riverfront Park, connecting several riverfront parks and miles of trails. Turn the corner toward Mission Street to get to Bush's Pasture Park or McCulloch Stadium, or stroll 1 mile north to the retail stores at Liberty Plaza and Salem Center.Īlthough you’re in Salem’s urban core, you’re still surrounded by nature. Step outside your door on Commercial Street to grab a coffee at Dutch Bros, a sweet treat at Gerry Frank’s Konditorei, or gourmet wood-fired pizza at Basil & Board. Living downtown at the southern edge of the Central Area neighborhood has its perks.
